Are you ready for FINALS?

Are you worried about your first set of college finals? Did you not do so well on your midterms? Do you know where to begin studying? Don't worry! The GUTS Study Skills staff is here to help! Come join us on December 2, 2008 in TITU Union South for a no pressure, walk-in study skills advising session. Come in anytime between 7:30PM and 9:30PM and we'll address any and all of your problem areas, including time management, concentration, exam preparation, and goal setting. Stay for as little or as long as you want, whatever works for you! We hope to see you there!

National Network for Environmental Management Studies (EPA-NNEMS)
Fellowship Program

Although these are labeled as fellowships, the assignments might be more accurately described as research internships.  It is anticipated that approximately 20-30 research projects will be offered next year among the following categories:

   environmental policy, regulation, and law;
   environmental management and administration;
   environmental science; and
   public relations and communications.

These include opportunities for students at all academic levels, from freshmen to doctoral candidates. Although the application deadline is Tuesday, February 2, 2009, it would be very advantageous to get started early. All materials, including the program catalog, list of research projects, FAQs, and the application form, are online.  See the EPA-NNEMS web site at <http://www.epa.gov/enviroed/NNEMS/> for details.

WISCONSIN IDEA UNDERGRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS (WIF)

 

Are you interested in helping to address a significant community issue (local, national, or global)?  Learning while making a difference?  Becoming a more engaged citizen?  You can do all of this AND RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT, and a FINANCIAL STIPEND for your efforts through a Wisconsin Idea Undergraduate Fellowship (WIF)!

LEARN HOW YOU CAN... ·        Work in collaboration with a community organization and a UW-Madison faculty/instructional staff member to address an important c9ommuunity issue.·        Earn three (3) academic credits.·        Receive a stipend – up to $3,000 for an individual student and $5,000 for a group project (2-5 students in a group) WHO CAN APPLY?  Applicants must be UW-Madison undergraduate students who have at least sophomore standing at the time of the application.TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE 2009 - 2010 WIF, do one of the following:A) Attend one of the upcoming WIF Information Sessions·        Thursday, November 20, 6pm.
