Career Advising in Ogg Hall

Coming to Ingraham Hall isn't the only way to meet with a career advisor; During the fall & spring semesters, CEC advisors also take appointments in Ogg Hall.

Gain Work Experience

A part-time job during the summer or academic year can help you build connections, learn more about a field you are considering, and become familiar with working in a professional environment. Explore options on campus at the Student Job Center.


Each semester, the CEC hosts a variety of workshops to help students continue to explore their major and career options. CEC spring workshops have concluded. Our fall semester workshops will be announced in mid-August.

If you are interested in a healthcare profession that allows you to help others live life to the fullest, occupational therapy might be for you! Come to this workshop to explore this exciting field, and learn about how to become an Occupational Therapist.

CALS: Oh No! I Don't Have A Job! What Now? How To Do A Gap Year

CALS will be talking to students about the options and potential benefits of a gap year. If you are interested in seeing the variety of options for students interested in taking a gap year, consider attending this event!

Studying Abroad with a Psychology Major

Come learn about how study abroad works with the Psychology Major! On this panel session we will have a Psychology advisor, and representatives from the study abroad office International Academic Programs (IAP), including a student who has studied abroad. In this session you will learn about the process of studying abroad, programs, the course equivalency process, benefits of going abroad, etc. There will also be time for your questions to be answered!

Learn about Careers in the International Freelance Journalism, NGO and Non-profit Sectors

Led by Jacob Kushner, UW/LACIS/Journalism alum, and Award-winning Freelance Journalist. He will discuss his experiences working as a freelance journalist, and comment on possible careers in the international non-profit, journalism and NGO fields. This roundtable will be open to any student on campus who is interested in attending.
