Majors Fair
The Majors Fair provides students with the opportunity to learn about a variety of academic programs by speaking with department representatives and advisors from over 100 majors and certificates.
Advisors from Cross-College Advising Service (CCAS) will also be available to answer students’ questions.
Workshops
Come join us in the Exploration Center for workshops to help you explore careers, majors, and aspects of yourself that relate to your future career. Workshops are presented in a group format and involve students in activities and discussions.
- All workshops are held in the Exploration Center, 6 Ingraham Hall.
- We offer a variety of free workshops each semester.
- Space is limited! Pre-registration is required to attend.

This workshop provides suggestions for beginning the process of choosing a major, and helps answer the questions What is a major? Why do I need one? Once I choose a major, then what?
This workshop is geared toward freshmen who are completely undecided.

There are many biology-related majors at UW-Madison (more than 35), so simply knowing you want to major in biology is not enough. In this workshop, you’ll get an overview of the tremendous variety of biology majors here. You’ll also learn how to volunteer and gain research experience in the biological sciences, and get a glimpse into the career possibilities in biology.
